To provide a unique and safe environment for the Philadelphia community

that fosters wellness, fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship.

 

OUR FACILITY

Phield House is a 25,000-square-foot indoor sports facility in Center City Philadelphia that boasts two synthetic turf fields, a multi-purpose court (for basketball, volleyball, etc.), two batting tunnels with state-of-the-art training equipment, an all-purpose party room and a WiFi lounge. 

Whether you’re an elite athlete looking to improve specific skills, a beginner interested in learning the basics of a new sport, a parent considering a physical after school activity for your school-aged child or an adult looking to join a league or just play with friends, Phield House was built for you. Everyone on our staff is dedicated to helping each and every person who walks through our doors reach their potential.  We encourage our guests to have fun, do their best and, most of all, stay active.

MARK SOLOMON, CEO

With over 18 years of experience in the promotional marketing industry, Mark’s expertise is in business development and operations. He was responsible for growing businesses through his strategic relationships and ​focus on ​client service. He ​led​ a promotional products subsidiary that not only served the needs of its parent company​ and their clients​, but also expanded into a profit center. Mark is ​excited​ to apply those skills​, combined with a spirited passion for sports, health and wellness,​ to the creation and development of Phield House. Mark has raced in 17 Sprint Triathlons from 2010 – 2016 and cycling remains his favorite exercise activity. Born and raised in Rockville, Maryland, he has lived in Center City Philadelphia since 2000 and now resides in Graduate Hospital with his wife, Rachel, and their two sons.

KURK WATSON, Director of Camps and Events

A Philadelphia native specializing in youth development, leadership training, creative play, and recreation, “Kaptain Kurk” leads Summer and Vacation Day Camp Programming at Phield House as well as parties and events.  Most recently the Program Director and Positive Behavioral Specialist for a local public school, he has written and published two books, once appeared on Family Feud, and is a yet-to-be-publicly-discovered chef!

FRANK DECEMBRINO, Managing Partner

Frank brings 16 years of experience as an educator, camp director and sports facility owner to Phield House. He joins following a 17 year career as the Coordinator of Health & Physical Education within the School District of Cheltenham Township and Operating Partner of USA Quickball. He is co-owner of the Ambler Sports Academy, which specializes in baseball and softball instruction for individuals and teams. Previously, Frank was Head Baseball Coach at Cheltenham High School, former Associate Scout for the Milwaukee Brewers and Director, Coach and Manager of Suburban 1 Carpenter Cup Team. Frank is a native Philadelphian, having grown up on the playgrounds of Olney and Fox Chase and played Department of Rec sports for his entire youth.

SHANNON GUNBY, Operating Partner

An all-around athletic professional, Shannon brings  nearly 20 years of experience as an athlete, a manager, a coach, sports business owner and educator to the Phield House. Currently, he is co-owner of Ambler Sports Academy, which specializes in baseball and softball instruction, as well as a science teacher at Wissahickon Middle School. Previously, he served as the Manager of the Suburban 1 Carpenter Cup Team and has served as Director of Baseball Operations for the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation and Head Baseball Coach and Football Coach at Wissahickon High School. He’s an Operating Partner of USA Quickball. When he’s not teaching, this former member of the Mansfield University baseball team enjoys fishing, running, hiking and playing with his sons in his backyard in Ft. Washington, PA.

Train & Play

Phield House offers a wide variety of athletic options for kids and adults alike who are looking to play for fun, train with a team, or learn from elite trainers. Over the course of the year, clinics and classes provide instruction in many sports, including baseball, basketball, softball, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, football, and volleyball, just to name a few. Trainers are also available year round for personal or small group instruction, and all of our athletic spaces are available to book online or on the Phield House app.

Phield House is quickly becoming Philadelphia’s most sought after venue to host birthday parties, corporate outings, and private events. Whether you’re looking for an active party for your child, a team building activity for your colleagues, or a gathering to celebrate a milestone, our team is ready to welcome you and help you plan a great event.
